McGraw-Hill Education addresses virtually every aspect of the education market from pre-K through professional learning. Our technical innovations are changing the way people learn, with e-books, online tutoring, customized course Web sites and subscription services.  Now is the time to team up with our dynamic company as we create our next generation of who we need to be for our customers!    We are currently recruiting for outstanding internship opportunities that will be based at our facility in Monterey, CA.  An internship at CTB means working on meaningful projects in your field of interest.  Opportunities are available in various disciplines, including Research, Operations, Project Management, Technology, Human Resources, Programs, Product Development, Sales, Finance, and Marketing.   We have an excellent opportunity in our  SALES department working with our International Team.    You will conduct market research to determine the potential for selling an online English proficiency assessment product in English speaking countries, countries that would accept a complete English implementation (Korea), and in the US.  This will include documentation of the number of English Language Learner middle, high school, and adults; market channels, competition, pricing models, potential funding sources, and documentation of technical issues.   MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: Understand the need for target market information as well as its potential uses Independently conduct thorough and documented research Independently develop/maintain database of documents, statistics, contact information Independently and in collaboration with others, analyze and prioritize opportunities OBJECTIVE(S): Develop market analysis sufficient to support CTB's international strategic plan and support business development investment decisions in targeted markets. KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Business Development, Strategy and Planning Policy Analysis International Marketing Education Reform Demonstrated ability to independently pursue research topics, identify the most critical components, provide clear and concise written reports of the results in either an academic or professional environment. ADDITIONAL SKILLS (Computer/Technical, Languages, etc.): Excel and Word - required Access - desired Second language - desired DURATION: June 15, 2009 through July 31, 200 (seven weeks). LOCATION: Internship project will be at CTB's office in Monterey, California. COMPENSATION:   Hourly wage, housing, transportation and meal plan.
