Click Here to Apply Online Occupational Therapy Assistant Schedule: Full Time Shift: Days Hours: 7:00 - 3:30 Occupational Therapist Assistant for Geriatric behavioral health unit and acute care hospital, including our neurological intensive care unit and soon to open ACE unit (acute care for the elderly) and orthopedic units. Work with a team of experience therapists. GENERAL SUMMARY: Practices occupational therapy under the laws and rules of OT/PT/AT Licensure Board. Implements occupational therapy services for patients as appropriate to newborns, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist, including treatment and documentation; demonstrates safe and professional behavior as dictated by hospital and departmental policies; provides education on occupational therapy related subjects to patients, families, hospital personnel, and the community. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Associate level graduate from an accredited college or university for occupational therapy assistant. Required Length and Type of Experience: Preferably one year experience in appropriate clinical area. Required Licensure, Certification or Registry: Licensed by Occupational Therapy Section of the OT/PT/AT Board. Required Physical and Environmental Demands: Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time; must lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients, i.e., pushing beds, carts, and wheelchairs.
