We currently have an outstanding opportunity for a Scoring Operations Shelf Program Intern to be based at our facility in Monterey, CA. Working as part of the Programs team, this role involves updating the existing process and templates for program design and customer requirements; and quality initiatives, align the program's customer requirements with the functional area project requirements to reduce rework, improve productivity and efficiency, improve budget estimating (ROS), and increase customer satisfaction. OBJECTIVES: Partner with a Shelf Program Manager to learn shelf program management Contribute ideas for process improvement to ensure quality deliverables and customer satisfaction Develop metrics to ensure quality and reduce re-work Develop detailed process maps to clarify work instructions applying lean processing to improve turn around time on quality deliverables Design and develop unique tools to support process documentation (Templates, guidelines, etc.) Consider cutting edge / digitized solutions to enhance process Validate solutions with key stakeholders to ensure accuracy and efficiency MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES : Excellent writing skills and the ability to prepare concise and clear documentation Communicate complex issues to various levels of staff Ability to work well with diverse groups of people to develop a collaborative, optimal solution Good problem solving and troubleshooting abilities Monitoring and controlling contract ROS to complete contracts within budget Delivery of high-performance solutions and services Ability to meet deliverables according to defined schedules Lead efforts in quality and process improvements, and implementing targeted initiatives KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Experience in interpreting existing process documentation, tools, and various data in order to enhance and optimize new quality solutions EDUCATION AND MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum completion of two years of college, three preferred in the field of general business management or related area ADDITIONAL SKILLS (Computer/Technical, etc.): Excellent organizational and analytical skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio Must be self directed and able to direct multiple priorities simultaneously Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to internalize quickly, retain, and apply knowledge Strong attention to detail DURATION: June 15, 2009 through July 31, 200 (seven weeks). LOCATION: Internship project will be at CTB's office in Monterey, California. COMPENSATION: Hourly wage, housing, transportation and meal plan. WHO SHOULD APPLY: Must be Junior status or above and currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program.
