Performance Responsibilities Under the direction of the Vice President of Instruction, the Dean of Business, Computing, and Career Services is responsible for the following functions within the policies and procedures established by the Board of Trustees:

1. Coordination of the development of the division's semester schedules utilizing staff resources and physical facilities to meet the emerging needs of the student population and program demands.
2. Develop and maintain division budget within the framework of the financial resources including audit tracking.
3 .Oversee implementation of current employment contracts, including evaluation and scheduling of faculty and classified staff.
4. Provide leadership in the development of curriculum for Business, Computing, and Career Services programs.
5. Assist in development and coordination of staff development activities for the division and career services staff.
6. Assist in the communication, promotion, and publicity of the division's programs.
7. Supervise division chairs and career services program director, as well as division faculty and staff, maintaining the instructional standards of the college.
8. Plan for Business, Computing, and Career Services program facilities, staffing, and instructional needs, and integrate them into the college and district planning process.
9. Serve as a liaison with State Chancellor's Office and provide representation at state and national levels including representation of the college at regional and statewide organizations as assigned.
10. Develop revenue and grants sources for career services.
11. Work collaboratively with faculty and staff on budget, curriculum, facilities, and other areas of shared governance requirements.
12. Conduct regular Division and Department meetings, including the coordination of advisory committee meetings.
13. Provide necessary coordination of specialized and regional business program accreditation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Faculty/Educational Administrators complete the Equivalency Application only if you do not meet the minimum qualifications for the position you are applying to, and you wish to be considered.

Must meet one of the following qualifications under (a) through (c):

a. Possess the California Community College Credential authorizing administrative service at the community college level.

b. Possess a Master's degree from an accredited institution AND one year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator's administrative assignment.

c. A combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent to the above. Candidates making application on the basis of equivalency must submit an Application for Equivalency in addition to all other required materials.
