Guidelines are your life.   Performing audits, generating reports and working with the agents to assure accuracy in underwriting will keep you busy.
 
In order to grow the firm, you will have relationship responsibilities.   Introduce new clients, bring in relationships you have established and address marketing issues with your management.   Representing a firm with a niche in insurance makes life much simpler for you.   Getting out from behind the desk makes the job more fun so schedule about 30% of your time on the road.
 
Webster defines Surety as the state of being sure: as a: sure knowledge, a certainty, confidence in manner or behavior : assurance or a formal engagement (as a pledge) given for the fulfillment of an undertaking : guarantee b: a basis of confidence or security or one who has become legally liable for the debt, default, or failure in duty of another
 
Ideally you will have completed Level I and II of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers, have a Bachelors in Business Administration and have completed the AFSB Program.
