McGraw-Hill Professional has an outstanding opportunity for a Sr Publicist, based in our New York, NY office. The Sr Publicist will be responsible for discovering ways to create demand for division's business titles as well as execute campaigns to generate print, broadcast and online publicity for these titles. Essential Accountabilities: Implement publicity strategies and tactics to drive demand for division's books. Create online publicity campaigns to target niche professional end consumer. Create customized media lists and supervise press mailings. Prepare, research, and write press materials. Manage author relations to leverage author expertise and contacts to maximize publicity for division's titles. Work with outside PR firms on select projects. Communicate publicity plans and results to colleagues within McGraw-Hill. Organize bookstore signings and special events. Help mentor junior members of the department. Bachelors Degree. Minimum 6 years of book publicity experience. Experience working with nationally recognized books/authors. Ability and desire to help mentor junior members of the department highly desired. Have established press contacts and extensive knowledge of the media to create robust and effective publicity campaigns. Excellent organizational, communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and time management skills. Results-oriented, creative, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Team player with a can do attitude.
