McGraw-Hill Education addresses virtually every aspect of the education market from pre-K through professional learning. Our technical innovations are changing the way people learn, with e-books, online tutoring, customized course Web sites and subscription services.  Now is the time to team up with our dynamic company as we create our next generation of who we need to be for our customers!    We are currently recruiting for outstanding internship opportunities that will be based at our facility in Monterey, CA.  An internship at CTB means working on meaningful projects in your field of interest.  Opportunities are available in various disciplines, including Research, Operations, Project Management, Technology, Human Resources, Programs, Product Development, Sales, Finance, and Marketing.   We have an excellent opportunity in our Technology and Systems department at our Monterey, CA facility.   SUMMARY OF PROJECT(S):   Working as part of the Technology Implementations team, this role involves development of online tools that facilitate custom contract implementations or operational product support.  The intern will work with technology stakeholders to understand process gaps that can be automated, refine project requirements, plan development schedule and ultimately produce the end product(s).   Projects may include wiki development, scripting to automate metrics reporting, online survey tools, configuration interface development, etc.   MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES / OBJECTIVES: Problem observation, requirements analysis, solution design Software development and documentation Stakeholder training in use and maintenance Status Reports Presentation to Management   Minimum 1 year of experience with Software Development Life Cycle required Minimum 1 year of experience with requirements and analysis process is desired Experience with software development required Web based development experienced desired ADDITIONAL SKILLS (Computer/Technical, Languages, etc.): Excellent organizational and analytical skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Highly motivated with minimal supervision Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities Ability to internalize quickly and retain and apply knowledge Strong attention to detail Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products DURATION: June 15, 2009 through July 31, 2009 (seven weeks). LOCATION: Internship project will be at CTB's office in Monterey, California. COMPENSATION:   Hourly wage, housing, transportation and meal plan.
