The group is responsible for enterprise systems that support Finance & Procurement, Human Resources and other corporate applications for The McGraw-Hill Companies.  GES owns a diverse portfolio of technologies developed & supported on both Unix and Windows platforms.    Implement Reporting and Analytics Solutions for Finance and Procurement using the Cognos Business Intelligence toolset In this exciting opportunity the candidate will work with the users in Finance and Procurement to understand their requirements and challenges and translate them into functional and technical designs using the IBM Cognos business intelligence toolset. At the end of this internship the candidate will be able to build Cognos OLAP data cubes that end users can use for data analysis; recommend new solutions to ever changing business requirements; develop end-user training manuals and advocate Cognos best practices in all parts of the software development lifecycle. Implement a New Cash Management Solution for the McGraw-Hill Companies In this project the candidate will work with the Treasury group and implement a system that integrates information from several McGraw-Hill banks located throughout the world. At the end of this internship the candidate will have knowledge of all components of a global cash management system, build interfaces that integrate information from various global banks and McGraw-Hill systems and learn about the process of replacing a legacy system with a new platform.  Assist with the selection of a New Credit Card Processing System In this project the candidate will work alongside the existing owner of McGraw-Hill's credit card system and determine the requirements for a new and improved system.  After requirements are documented technology solutions will be evaluated and a selection will be recommended for implementation.   All projects will require excellent business analysis, communication and documentation skills and the ability to work well individually as well as being a great team player. Activities will be aligned based on candidate interests and skills and to allow the candidate to maximize their summer experience.  Opportunities to interact with other GES team members, other technology groups and business partners will allow the candidate to gain knowledge about the many career opportunities at The McGraw-Hill Companies.   A full-time undergraduate pursing a B.S degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or similar discipline. Strong technology and analytical skills, however, no specific technology is required for the position. Excellent written and oral communications.
