Our team is responsible for monitoring and deployment framework and infrastructure - This technology is a part of our core Hotmail platform and is expanding to other properties in Windows Live. Fight spam and enjoy testing solutions to hard problems in a high performance, mega-scale environment! We are handling roughly 2 billion emails daily intended for our pool of approximately three hundred million users. Along the way, that mail runs through a sophisticated series of anti-spam technology that is able to classify and filter significant portions of that load to ultimately protect the inboxes of our users from abuse. We are looking for a seasoned engineer with a thorough understanding of testing methodologies and processes, a strong passion for quality, the technical acumen to move us forward, and a desire to make a positive change in the product. The primary responsibilities for this position include: Making both tactical and strategic decisions around how features and products get tested Designing new and leveraging existing test automation infrastructure Delivering on test specs, test plans, test cases, and other documentation Designing, creating and managing test infrastructure with proper risk analysis to balance agility and stability. Analyzing, investigating and resolving issues found in our production environment. Keeping team deliverables in sync with development process and deliverables, and maintaining a highly productive team over multiple release cycles. Working across disciplines to architect short and long term plans for our platform. Analyzing the feasibility of projects, both in a technical and non-technical sense, and weighing cost versus reward in order to make objective decisions. Working with Development, Program Management and Operations to scope and deliver releases. Working with the engineering teams of dependent services to ensure high quality and reliability of the monitoring infrastructure. Diving deep into the technical aspects of the product to better our test and development efforts. The requirements for this position include: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field of study. 5+ years of experience with C, C++, C# or JAVA. Strong knowledge of storage and enterprise database systems. Experience in API testing methodologies and automation test development. Experience with SQL and database development and testing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that includes aggressive release schedules. Knowledge of stress, performance and capacity planning is a plus. In addition to the above, it is expected that you will have a strong passion for quality assurance and outstanding attention to detail.
