Acts as lead on issues of a medical or regulatory nature in the development of materials for Merck Global Marketing and subsidiary/U.S. Marketing as required for assigned product(s). Helps ensure timely preparation input and approval of high-quality core promotional materials (including input to and approval of the MarComm Toolbox) for the assigned product(s). Serves on M/L Board or in serial M/L review as needed. Provides assistance to line management and country medical personnel to improve overall local review processes and ensure compliance with Corporate Policies.

Under the direction of the Franchise Lead GMC and working closely with Marketing & Sales Training/Training globally and in the U.S./subsidiaries participates in content development including slide sets and all medical training programs for the Sales Force and other internal audiences to reflect advances in medical knowledge for the assigned product(s). Works with Training to implement continuing product/medical and disease education programs for Merck globally for assigned product(s). Delivers lectures for the Sales Force and to internal clients as requested. Participates in training programs for Merck Medical Services personnel worldwide.

Provides direction to product team and personally participates in responding to medical inquiries from all health care professionals about assigned Merck product(s) worldwide. Oversees the team to provide comprehensive and responsive medical information services through the Professional Information Request (PIR) system and the Merck NSC or equivalent to ensure a high level of customer service in medical information provision for the assigned product(s). Oversees the accuracy and appropriateness of GMCs extensive product knowledge base for assigned product(s) Participates in GHH sponsored Congresses Audits and County visits as necessary and requested.
Provides strategic and tactical input to Marketing Planning Brand Leaders and Product Promotion (MarComm) in the development of new innovative strategies communications and materials for assigned product(s). Assist Marketing Communications in publications activities including presentations.

Educational Requirements:
--MD Required (M.D. Board Certified)
-Post-graduate training

Requirements:
-Board certified Endocrinologist/Internist with valid license
-At least 3 years post-training experience in medical practice or academia.

Desired:
- Active Medical liscense preferred
- Some experience with medical education preferred
- Some management experience preferred
