The Hospital Customer Representative is a key member of the Merck Sales Team. The incumbent plays a critical role in supporting Mercks customer centric business model. He/she is responsible for working with internal and external clients to understand and identify customer needs support pull-through activities relative to the customer strategy and ensure that Merck is providing value and better health outcomes to healthcare professionals and their patients.

Communicates about products in a way that is relevant to each individual customer; customizes discussions and client interactions based on understanding of customers needs
Within select customer accounts acts as primary point of contact for customer meet with key customers/personnel to understand practice structure business model key influencers network structure customer needs and identifies business opportunities
Provides input into resource allocation decisions across customers
Identifies and selects programs/services available in the library of Merck resources to address customer needs
Meets the needs of customers in a manner consistent with the laws regulations and Merck values and policies


The territory covers Shreveport LA. This position calls on the following institutions: LSU Medical Center - Shreveport and VA Hospital Shreveport. There will be no overnights required for this position. The ideal location to reside for this position is Shreveport LA.
BA/BS required. Science or Business discipline preferred. Masters Preferred. Minimum of two years successful pharmaceutical sales medical device sales or biotech experience required. Hospital Sales experience preferred. Ability to accurately convey scientific information and communicate effectively preferred.
