Responsible for assisting the community relations manager in the planning and implementation of corporate generated community relations activities. Primary duties to include, but are not limited to: Coordinates volunteer activities by planning, organizing and providing volunteer management for events. Responds to requests for funding. Tracks utilization of company contributions. Serves as a representative at company sponsored events. Develops and implements a year round United Way communications plan.

Skills:
* Requires a BA/BS degree in communications, English or related field; 1-2 years of directly related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.* Previous experience in health insurance or health care field preferred.* Experience relationship building is essential. * Involvement within the local community strongly preferred.* 10-15% local travel required.WellPoint is ranked as one of America's Most Admired Companies among health insurers by Fortune magazine and is a 2008 DiversityInc magazine Top 50 Company for Diversity.
