The Quality Engineering group within the Merck Manufacturing Division currently seeks an individual to provide analytical technical organizational and managerial leadership for its Office of Commitment Management. This person will lead the effort to identify evaluate and realize opportunities for productivity efficiency and cost improvements within West Point Quality Operations (WPQO) determine how to best utilize resources and provide engineering support. Specifically the Leader will:

Serve on a situational basis as project leader and client liaison throughout WPQO.
Independently determine ways and means to improve performance in all areas of Quality Operations and ensure proper allocation of Company resources.
Provide leadership & oversight to the Office of Commitment Management which includes the SOP Unit & the management of ongoing regulatory/non-regulatory commitments.

In order to qualify for this position you must possess a minimum of a completed Bachelors degree. The desired educational background is a BS in an appropriate Engineering field Operations Improvement or Business Administration. Other fields of study will be considered if accompanied by significant relevant experience.

In addition you must possess four or more years of related Industrial Production or Staff experience including all of the following:

Project management operations support or process improvement
Financial analysis resource allocation or budget / profit plan management
Capital plans and/or projects
Regulatory and/or compendial requirements


Experience is desired in the following areas:

Facilities / space planning
Operations research techniques
