Responsibilities: Responsible for accepting and responding to customer inquiries and processing orders received. Responsibility includes reviewing orders received to ensure customer needs are met, following through on commitments of delivery of product or information required, and proper communication of information to customers and employees who are fulfilling the order. Primary Duties: Sell products and services. Know and communicate Crescent's Value Added Services where they will meet customer needs. Provide product pricing to customers as requested. Promptly and efficiently handle customer requests received by telephone, facsimile, or email. Understand product applications to aid customers in their selections. Work with Purchasing Department, account managers, quotations specialists, product champions, and other branch personnel to provide competitive quotations. Attend training sessions and sales meetings. Expedite customer orders through the Purchasing Department. Maintain a current library of reference material. Interact with branch personnel to exchange customer needs information. Back up and support counter sales representatives and warehouse personnel, as necessary. Assist and resolve customer problems. Issue Return Goods Requests (RGR) to customers to expedite product returns. Obtain product knowledge, maintain product inventory, and know major competitor lines. Enter lost sales in computer system. Document customer comments/feedback by completing Customer Comment Form. Perform proactive telesales to customers assigned by branch or district manager. Qualifications: Individual must possess strong PC skills. Must have the ability to work quickly and accurately within time constraints and against deadlines. In addition, must possess interpersonal skills, organizational skills, be a self starter, detail oriented, and have ability to multitask and to communicate (verbal and written). Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to two years of wholesale electrical distribution experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A college degree is preferred. Forklift experience a plus. Knowledge of electrical distribution, their applications, and sales experience preferred.
