Our digital products and services will continue to build on that success. McGraw-Hill Higher Education is looking for a Director, EDP Specialized Production in our Dubuque, IA location. Responsibilities: Manage EDP staff for specialized titles including designers, project managers, production supervisors, media project managers, and support staff. Responsible for developing, managing, and meeting cost center operating budget and capital budget Utilize human and capital resources to maximize profit, meet budget objectives, and respond to changing business conditions. Identify work priorities and goals and structure job assignments and processes for maximum efficiency. Meet production schedules for all projects related to specialized titles. Participate on imprint team; review and approve imprint's project proposals, strategies, and marketing plans. With EDP Leadership Team devise short- and long-term EDP strategies. Accountable for staff productivity and all EDP processes; structure departments for maximum efficiency including development of appropriate workflows Work with Central Services teams for effective vendor management, development of best practice and standards for sourcing, rate management and partnership implementation Work effectively across all MHHE business units on effective delivery of MHHE Specialized Products Requirements: Bachelor's Degree; undergraduate business courses or MBA-level courses desirable. 7+ years experience in editorial production, preferably with textbooks Technical knowledge of graphic arts production Proven record of plant cost reduction and productivity increases in previous management positions General management experience; experience with change management General knowledge of financial reporting; general knowledge of marketing, and sales strategies Successful experience with process reengineering in previous management positions; general knowledge of operations management and best practices in publishing production environment.
