  What You'll Do
This critical position will report to the Vice President of Washington Operations and will have the following responsibilities:  

Provide focal point in Washington DC area for Environment and Weather programs and other earth science customers/agencies, especially NOAA and NASA.
Increase interactions in existing program support, identification of new business opportunities, assessment of policy issues and budget process with government and industry community associated with BATC's environment and weather programs
Participate in strategy discussions on existing and new business and analyze and present information on new opportunities, competitive assessments and trends in earth science environments
Working with the civil and operational space business unit and other BATC organizations, as required, to develop a coordinated strategy for BATC's related earth science business
Initiating customer contacts with various offices within the various agencies and with other appropriate executive branch offices, developing and implementing contact plans in the Washington area on current and future programs
Participate in developing legislative strategies on programs and opportunities
As a local point of contact, the candidate will establish a rapport with customers to provide insight into the direction of organization, work in shaping requirements and acquisition plans, assess customer satisfaction, identify and qualify potential new business opportunities, and understand their budget and political environment
Coordinate and initiate BATC earth science customer meetings across SBUs, in the Washington DC area

   
What You'll Need
 

15 or more years of experience in business development with the focus on space systems and intelligence programs or related field
Current knowledge and experience working with the environment, weather and earth science community: Program experience with NASA, NOAA, OMB and other related agencies.
Knowledge of the Federal budget process
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of proposal process
Understanding of the Congressional process preferred
B.A./B.S. in related field
