What You´ll Do Power Systems Engineer to fill technical and project engineering leadership roles in support of design, analysis, test and operation of spacecraft electrical power systems for commercial, DoD and NASA customers. Responsibilities include: · development of power systems architectures, · requirements development, verification and performance validation, · power system concept development, · power simulations, · subcontract management, · power system sizing and performance analysis, · leadership of hardware development teams, · mentoring of more junior personnel, · chairing peer reviews, · integration and test support, · launch and operations support, · strategic planning, · technology development and · new business activities. . What You´ll Need Required Experience and Skills: BS in Engineering or a related technical field is strongly preferred, plus 12 or more years experience is required. In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibit the skills and competencies of the grade level should be considered. Each higher level degree, Masters, etc. may substitute for two years of experience. Related experience may be considered in lieu of education. Minimum of 12 years direct experience in spacecraft Electrical Power Subsystem Engineering with a solid understanding of all aspects of direct energy transfer architecture power systems - power generation, storage, distribution, control, and fault protection. Experience with defining, developing and delivering space quality hardware. Strong oral, written, business development and presentation skills. Effective in small team work environment with broad responsibilities, minimal oversight and ability to mentor junior team members. Project management experience, including budget and schedule planning, cost account management, and subcontract management. Capable of performing solar array, battery and power distribution sizing and performance analysis. Desired Experience and Skills: Detailed knowledge relating to the following is highly desirable: Lithium Ion and Nickel Hydrogen batteries, solar arrays, power control, power distribution, and charge control methods. Experience with power simulation tools is highly desirable. Experience with circuit design and analysis is highly desirable.
