The vice president, national development, will build and lead our national development team to meet our ambitious national fundraising goals. The vice president will manage our vice presidents (relationship managers) for major gifts, foundations, and corporate relations, as well as the managing directors of our newly-created communications and operations team and our emerging small gifts initiative.
The Growth Strategy and Development team helps Teach For America fulfill our potential as a force for change by marshaling resources, cultivating public and private sector champions, and strategically seizing opportunities for expansion and revenue growth both nationally and regionally.
Responsibilities
•Ensuring the national development team meets its annual revenue goals
• Ensuring that the best strategy for donor identification, cultivation, stewardship, and recognition is being implemented for each donor by our relationship managers
• Ensuring that the national development team collaborates effectively with Regional Development and our regions to share information and best practices, coordinating on relationships and proposals as appropriate, and expanding the overall base of support for Teach For America
• Managing and coaching the managing director of the communications and operations team, and working with the team to identify and execute opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness across entire national development team
• Identifying, developing, and leading new strategies for revenue growth to meet our 2015 goals, including managing the managing director of our new small gifts initiative and leading our endowment campaign effort
• Interfacing with our Development Operations, Finance and Information Technology teams, ensuring that critical support needs are identified and addressed, projects are implemented on time, and challenges are identified and resolved expeditiously
• Collaborating with Marketing and Communications teams to improve donor recognition, donor communications, and donor outreach strategies and implementation
•Serving on the Growth Strategy and Development leadership team
• Building a high performing, cohesive national development team, with the capacity and skills to execute, clear paths and opportunities for professional development, and a supportive and fun environment in which to work.
•Occasional travel required
