Job Description
The Sensus Metering Systems companies are global world-class providers of water, gas, heat and electric meters including comprehensive metering communications system solutions that comprise both automatic meter reading (AMR) and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) systems.
Sensus Metering Systems seeks to hire a Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer for the development and implementation of RF based utility metering products involving complex electronics, software and embedded systems which collectively comprise an end-to-end Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) based metering application. The position will be permanent and located in Your Call and will require a period of a several weeks training with engineering teams in Dubois, PA, Uniontown, PA, Raleigh, NC and/or Santa Barbara, CA. change as needed based on permanent location
Sensus engineers have the opportunity to be part of specialized development team involved with the following:

Development of DSP or micro-controller based embedded metering systems in high volume products for the next generation of Gas Meters and Automatic Meter Infrastructure (AMI) products.
Developing the building blocks for new core features and functionality for future products.

Job Responsibilities
The Senior Embedded HW Developer is responsible for the development and ongoing engineering support of the Sensus portfolio of sonic based gas meter products and systems. This position provides designs that meet utility and industry requirements as well as internal requirements for cost effectiveness, accuracy, functionality, performance, and reliability. Additionally, this position will:
Have the ability to motivate and mentor engineers
Be responsible for the design, documentation, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electronic products and other hardware and software systems for gas meters, and systems required to test and calibrate meters.

Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics
* At least 8 years of analog and digital embedded systems development experience with at least 2 years of experience with utility metering products or experience in developing sensor based products for high volume production preferred.
* Experience with hardware implementation of analog based sensor systems using micro-controllers or DSPs in resource limited situations (ROMS/RAM/MIPS) and in-depth understanding of fixed point arithmetic issues and implementation techniques.
* Knowledge of the issues involved with development and debugging of embedded real time systems.
* Ability and desire to work in a fast paced team environment where you will interface regularly with electrical, back-end software, mechanical and system test engineers on system level design development.
* Desire and ability to learn new tools, languages and design techniques.
