Health Information Consultant
*this position will be filled in Richmond VA.
The Health Information Consultant
will be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve member health through analysis of data and transforming business intelligence into action plans and providing strategic recommendations for improving member health to professional clients.
Essential duties to include, but are not limited to:
* Develops client-specific reports and other analyses that showcase program value.
* Responsible for prospective and retrospective health economic research activities for Anthem National Account Clients.
* Supports research activities for HMC client outcomes in areas including research designs, methodologies, analytical techniques, and reporting.
* Researches and analyzes broadly defined business scenarios, trends, and patterns and develops recommendations for management.
* Understands contractual obligations related to reporting; in collaboration with manager ensures that reporting needs are met for assigned client(s).
* Provides business knowledge regarding the appropriate use of data elements and cooperates with reporting personnel from other areas to establish and maintain these common business rules.
* Tracks and prioritizes projects through coordination and negotiation with client to improve the efficiency of information/project plan generation.
* Evaluates and triages potential projects and studies based on the value, cost benefit analysis and the urgency of the request.
* Performs strategic data analysis (data mining) and research as appropriate to support business needs (e.g., disease management, provider profiling, etc.).
Skills:
Experience in comprehensive customer segmentation and stratification based on individual customer characteristics and behavioral data. Strong logical thinking and problem solving skills; Advanced SAS skills/experiences. Ability to apply quantitative analytical tools and techniques to solve practical business problems.Ability to report, interpret and present analytics results.Advanced degree in Statistics, Computer Science, or other related quantitative/analytical fields preferredPrior healthcare related analysis and reporting experience preferred. This position must be located in our Richmond, VA WellPoint Office location.
