President & GM WI

Reports directly to the President, Central Region and is responsible for the profitability, overall strategic direction, and public image of WellPoint for Wisconsin. Responsible for developing the strategy and policy that guides underwriting and overall P&L responsibilities, while implementing and supporting corporate and regional wide policies regarding information technology systems, finance, brand management, legal, public affairs, marketing, medical management and regional operations.
Sets strategy for the state and has direct accountability for sales, retention, broker strategies/incentive, underwriting, and profit/loss of the group medical business in the state
Contributes to and implements policies for state of Wisconsin to guide underwriting, medical management, sales, marketing and regional operations. Indirectly oversees enrollment and billing, claims and customer service levels for customers.
Partners with corporate functions including IT, finance, brand management, public affairs, government relations, HR and marketing to maximize performance in the state
Liaison with state regulators on rate filings and other regulatory matters for all business in the state including individual, national accounts, and specialty business.
Face of WellPoint in the state; sponsors community relations activities and has overall responsibility for the perception of the company in the state.

Skills:
Position requirements include: a Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's preferred) with 10-15 years of increasingly responsible leadership experience with a large organization; experience and knowledge of sales, marketing, network management, underwriting, operations and finance; strategic thinking and demonstrated organizational leadership capabilities required. Key skills include analytical ability, innovation and creativity, teamwork and communications.
