Who We Are: Ball Aerospace is a leader in design, development and manufacture of innovative aerospace systems. We produce spacecraft, instruments and sensors, RF and microwave technologies, data exploitation solutions and a variety of advanced aerospace technologies and products that enable exciting missions. Ball Aerospace is known for its contributions in support of space and Earth science, exploration, national security and intelligence programs. We were also a pioneer in the development of the commercial remote sensing market, producing imaging systems and spacecraft that helped spawn a new market-driven demand for imagery. Our projects offer some of the most difficult and exciting challenges in aerospace. We employ approximately 3,000 talented engineers, scientists, technicians and support staff. And one of the keys to our success is our people. Our employees take great pride in their contributions to better understanding our planet and protecting the nation. What You'll Do:

The role of an FPGA verification engineer is to create a test environment around an FPGA design to verify correctness of that design. This includes writing models for peripheral devices, creating communications between models and creating a self checking structure that detects unwanted behavior in the design. Test cases are developed to run the design through various scenarios of normal operation and error conditions. This is all done in simulation prior to programming any FPGA devices.
Candidate will be responsible for FPGA/ASIC verification for space-based, high reliability electronic systems.  Assignments include verification of designs (including SOC architectures utilizing soft-core processors, digital filters, image processing algorithms, and communication interfaces/protocols), design and implement test benches and test plans for both chip-level and system level environments, and help create reusable verification environments that can be used across multiple projects.

What You'll Need: ·         Candidate should have strong software engineering skills, experience with C/C++, object oriented design, and be familiar with electronic circuit design and electronic systems. ·         Familiarity with FPGA verification methodologies and test bench development. ·         Experience with VHDL/Verilog, System Verilog, Perl, and Modelsim simulator is a plus. ·         Career focus on ASIC/FPGA verification. ·         Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong presentation skills. ·         Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.                   Education: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical field. In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibit the skills and competencies of the grade level should be considered.  Each higher level degree, i.e. Ph.D. may substitute for two years of experience.  Related experience may be considered in lieu of education. Applicants selected may be subjected to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency is required.
