The Corporate Investment Group (CIG) within Bank of America is seeking a Econometrician or Statistician with an Economics or Finance background. CIG uses quantitative techniques extensively, and is staffed by mathematicians, statisticians, economists, traders and programmers that apply quantitative methods to management of Bank of Americas investment portfolio. CIG designs and implements a suite of complex valuation tools and models. These models drive the valuation of mortgage servicing, mortgage-backed securities and whole loan portfolios. Additionally, CIG provides analytics for a wide range of processes, including: trading decisions, primary mortgage pricing and rate setting, credit loss forecasting, business strategy and ad hoc financial decisions at the highest level of the Bank.
The candidate will join the Credit Modeling team and be responsible for assisting in the design, implementation and improvement of the groups credit models.
Required Skills:
M.S. or PhD with a quantitative focus (e.g. Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Finance, Math, Computational Finance)
Previous experience with valuation and/or analytics in one of the following products:
* Credit Card
* Mortgage Credit (Home Equity or 1st Mortgage)
* Commercial Credit
Strong programming skills in SAS or Splus/R
Familiarity with prepayment model theory and modeling issues
Desired Skills:
Previous econometrics / statistical modeling experience for a major Financial institution is highly desirable
Knowledge of Interest Rate Derivatives valuation and analytics including:
* Swaps, swaptions, caps/floors
* Cash flows
* Valuation models (Black-Scholes, Monte Carlo pricing)
Computer skills in C , UNIX, Perl, SQL/Database
