Operations Manager

A very prestigious manufacturing company located in the OH area, is looking to hire an Operations Manager. This position would report to the V.P. / General Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES

* Leads and supervises a team of Operation 4-6 Turn Supervisors, 60-70 production and maintenance workers
* Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, safety, environmental, quality and evaluation of the operation
* Position will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies, procedures, and union contract
* Responsible for interviewing and training both exempt and non-exempt employees
* Full accountability for setting and meeting operational goals; strategic planning and forecasting, including staffing forecast; assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees including termination and resolving problems
* Ensures safe operations by meeting safety targets, maintaining a strong safety culture, designing safety improvement projects, and ensuring safety activities of the production area are being met
* Ensures all environmental regulations, rules and permits are communicated and enforced

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
* BS or MBA in technical background
* 5-10 Years Management experience in a production/manufacturing environment
* Commitment to employee development, dedication, motivation and intelligence
* Strong communication and technical skills
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize
* Highly developed analytical skills
* Articulate; well thought out communicator
* Must be flexible to work and shift 7 days/ 24 hours including Holidays
