Job Description
Senior Network Engineer position. Provides Tier 3 Escalation support for data center Network Infrastructure. Must have thorough understanding of data center networking technologies. Must be able to exercise sound technical judgment and discipline in the execution of network changes and deployment plans. Must be familiar with network lab testing and reporting. Must be able to work within stringent operations support policies and procedures and must hold himself accountable to those procedures. Incumbent must develop operational metrics and report regularly on those metrics. Incumbent must be able to interact with management, vendors and customers and should be able to effectively communicate complex issues in a clear, straightforward manner. Interact with other departments to provide information and assistance as necessary. Interact with Vendors for product issues. Create and Support network management and maintenance scripts. Create network Tier 2 support documentation.

Requirements
College degree preferred, or equivalent hands on work experience 7-9 years relevant technical. Demonstrated record of success with specific experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, Network Design and Support. Specific experience in a technical leadership role with complex projects related Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking. High proficiency with Layer 3 Routing, Routing Protocols and Switching technologies. Proficiency with Cisco routers, switches (IOS/CatOs). Strong verbal and written communication and customer interface skills are required. Comprehensive knowledge of Cisco 6500 devices, Cisco routers, Checkpoint Firewalls and F5 BigIP load balancers is desirable. CCIE or CCNP preferred but not required. Working knowledge of: TCP/IP, VLSM subnetting, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, OSI layers 1-7, STP, TCP/IP, HSRP, L2TP, VRRP, VPN. Gigabit and Fast Ethernet, frame relay, point to point T1, T3, OC3, and OC12. Vendor technical certifications are desired. Candidate must have the ability to pass a background check and potentially secure a government security clearance.
