The VP of Product Develop will report to the SVP/GM of VeriSign's Authentication Business Unit and provide leadership to a global product development organization located in Mountain View, Boston, Israel, and Bangalore. The leader of Product Development must be a technologist with strong business experience who has a proven track record of success in leading development teams and interacting with other functional organizations. The VP of Product Development is responsible for all technical aspects of development and delivery of the product roadmap and will participate as a key member of the business unit's senior management team. The successful candidate will play an essential role in the success of the business and set the example for how an engineering team should function.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Build great teams and products.
* Drive strategy and vision of product development in alignment with the organizations goals.
* Deliver quality products on time and in budget.
* Direct and optimize product development, including the software architecture, design, user experience, integration, quality assurance and deployment of existing and new products (client & server).
* Partner with Product Management and cross-functional teams to exceed customer requirements.
* Facilitate communication and collaboration across product development teams and functional organizations (i.e. Customer Support and Technical Operations).
* Champion and implement disciplined practices while ensuring the highest level of integrity and quality.
* Partner with internal resources and customers to evolve our technology while implementing strong processes and disciplines within the Engineering organization. * Create and execute technical operating strategies that will support and align with the overall corporate vision and strategies.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Proven track record in building, leading and mentoring successful global engineering
teams
* VP experience, reporting to a general manager in a global, publicly traded company
* A minimum of 15 years progressive senior management experience in software development (preferably Software as a Service (SaaS)
) with a solid understanding of business management is required.
* Strong customer focus.
* Excellent interpersonal, communications, negotiation and creative problem solving skills.
* Strong planning, prioritization and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and handle shifting priorities
* Ability to identify problems, research issues and collaborate with others to provide options for resolution.
* Hands-on leader with the ability to create and execute on plans and work well as a team player.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Background in software development (C/C , Java, etc.)
* Experience in high availability and “in the cloud” services
* Experience with networking, embedded and/or low level OS systems
* Implementation of train methodology for concurrent development processes
* Experience implementing agile processes
