This position reports directly to the General Manager of our client, a national telecommunications company. The Wholesale Carrier partners are defined as ILECs, MSOs, and CLECs. The successful candidate will serve as the executive sales leader for all Wholesale carrier partners. The primary role is to successfully penetrate the carrier partner accounts, ensuring that sales targets and quotas are met or exceeded. The sales metrics are based upon a mix of legacy products and higher bandwidth and network based products and services being delivered on the 2009 product roadmap.
The Vice President will build and lead a high performance sales team, comprised of the right talent and skills. This implies the required ability to help develop existing resources as well as recruit external talent. The sales team that the vice President will lead is expected to utilize value based, consultative sales strategies and tactics to achieve success.

This individual must be able to develop and grow key relationships within the senior levels of the wholesale carrier partners. The ideal candidate will have a pre-established set of executive relationships within the targeted partner accounts, as well as a significant level of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities
* Executive sales leader
* Meet or exceed sales objectives
* Maximize channel partner metrics (i.e. churn, profitability, new product adoption)
* Define team success metrics and establish goals
* Identify new sales opportunities and capitalize on them to increase overall account penetration
* Coach and mentor Sales Managers and Sales Executives to increase their skills and ensure that their sales goals are met or exceeded.
* Strategic thought leader capable of identifying and qualifying opportunities for new products and/or services
* Drive the execution and realization of the company's corporate vision

Qualifications
* 5-10 years of successfully building and leading a sales organization that sells to ILEC, MSO, and/or CLEC accounts.
* Experience with solution or value based selling
* Strong knowledge of the wholesale broadband business
* A rich network of senior contacts within the carrier market
