The team member in this position is a self-motivated engineer with a proven track record of shipping high performance commercial grade enterprise server software. This team member will be responsible for creating and maintaining one or more software components for CA Introscope's Platforms server, but will also work heavily on refactoring the server to improve performance and reduce complexity. This person should be passionate about designing and architecting robust, scalable and high-performance solutions.

Responsibilities:
• Design and code complex products that meet functional and business requirements on schedule and within budget.
• Develop reliable plans outlining steps and time tables for developing programs and communicate plans and status to management and other development team members.
• Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
• Perform unit and system testing of software to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications.
• Fix bugs, add enhancements, and convert software to other platforms.
• Set up software configuration control and software development environments including program source control to ensure reliable backups and source code integrity.
• Participate in design and code reviews with other developers.
• Assist Quality Assurance Team by providing assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems.
• Diagnose and fix complex clustered server issues spanning multiple tiers, including memory leaks, abnormal behavior and performance issues.
• Develop and direct software testing plans for quality assurance.
• Attend department meetings and provide input to establish and improve departmental processes and procedures.
• Provide product content to Technical Writers.

Minimum Requirements:
• 7 years of proven experience developing large-scale complex multi-tier applications and preferably 3 years of experience developing server side applications in Java.
• Experience working as a software developer for enterprise software companies with a record of successful product shipments is a must.
• Proficiency in many of these areas and technologies is expected: security, multi-threaded software, performance analysis, internet protocols, messaging, persistence layers, design patterns, reverse engineering, Byte Code Instrumentation (BCI), J2EE, SOAP, Weblogic, Websphere, Swing, SWT, Eclipse Plugins, OSGI, AspectJ, JDBC, SOA, C or C , and .NET.
• Ideally qualified candidates will have experience writing application servers, databases and other large multi-tiered systems.
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Master's degree highly preferred.
