We are seeking a Director of Communications to lead public relations, analyst relations, and executive communications in the Microsoft Dynamics marketing team. Microsoft Dynamics is a $1B global business that focuses on mid-market and enterprise companies worldwide, with tremendous upside and fierce competition. The Director of Communications role is critical to our success shifting perception in the marketplace to Microsoft as the number one choice for business solutions, bringing a new Microsoft “business vision” for BDMs to market, aggressively de-positioning our competition, winning analyst recommendations, demonstrating within Microsoft our clear leadership with business decision makers worldwide, integrating us well with corporate PR and other key BGs for business press leadership, and helping us to roll out an industry focused model with key press and analyst wins.
The Director of Communications will be a key member of the Microsoft Dynamics Marketing Leadership team, and will manage both the communications team within Microsoft as well as a large agency team. This role will build and lead our communications strategy, define and drive storytelling around major news of product releases, new business initiatives, key perception change efforts, and more, as well as manage the PR and AR Dynamics budget. This position requires strong strategic leadership ability, a proven track record in communications, excellent oral and written communications skills, and a strong understanding of how Microsoft technology, solutions and partners fit within our customers' businesses; the ability to collaborate across organizations (such as corporate PR, and other business groups) and demonstrate significant impact and influence is a must.

Prior public relations experience is required. The successful candidate will have at least 8 years of communications and/or product marketing experience coupled with a deep understanding of media relations, analyst relations, issues management experience, PR Agency management and detailed knowledge of the end to end process of driving a news cycle. PR experience with business applications is a significant “plus”. Proven strategic leadership, a track record of results, and thriving in a dynamic working environment are essential.
