In addition to the Business, Medical, and Technical markets, McGraw-Hill Professional is a publishing and content leader in Education and Test Prep and in Consumer categories such as health and self-help.   McGraw-Hill Professional has an exciting opportunity for an  Editorial Assistant , based in our New York City office.   The Editorial Assistant will support editors in all areas of acquisitions and development of manuscripts and content for the medical market.  They will perform a variety of administrative duties and also play an all around role in maintaining author relationships while contributing to meetings and to a strong and proactive editorial team.     Essential Responsibilities: Support acquisitions editors in achieving their goals of acquiring content and publishing projects as budgeted.  This includes tracking down information on previous editions, helping with author/editor correspondence, sending and tracking contracts, helping with research as needed, and planning editorial meetings as needed Work with authors and contributors to obtain contracted content by tracking manuscript, sending reminders and corresponding regularly with authors. Ensure that all necessary paperwork is on file, including contributor agreements, personal data forms, and permissions.  This includes independent follow-up in order to maintain schedules Maintain and keep up-to-date editorial database and book files, with particular attention paid to keeping accurate and complete author and contributor information. Interface with accounts payable and royalty departments to ensure timely author and vendor payments. Assist in preparing final manuscripts for production; prepare accurate and up to date front matter, and obtaining CIP from Library of Congress. Keep MPD and iPub databases updated so that other departments always have access to accurate product information. A?        Bachelor's Degree in related discipline A?        One year of experience in publishing a plus A?        Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills A?        Strong time management and multi-tasking skills required to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously A?        Great attention to detail A?        Ability to establish and maintain positive internal and external relationships A?        Strong customer service skills and ability to work with diverse and strong personalities A?        Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Internet, etc   McGraw-Hill Education: Where the World Learns to Succeed
