SUMMARY:

To perform customer support via system/network troubleshooting procedure, record call information, and dispatch field personnel as necessary. This position will support hardware, software and system level issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Answer incoming calls for product/system support from customers or field technicians
2. Record all pertinent customer information and nature of request for service
3. Validate priority of request; walk customer through resolution if possible
4. Dispatch field personnel depending upon level of technical difficulty and priority of call
5. Record eventual resolution of call for later product trend assessment
6. Assist field personnel in acquisition of engineering input when necessary
7. Remotely install software updates
8. Request update to formal troubleshooting process as trends are encountered or new product issues become apparent
9. Answer customer questions on hardware issues and basic reports and system operation.

Skills:
EDUCATION:

Microsoft Certified Professional or other designation is preferred but not required.

REQUIREMENT:

1. Minimum 2 Years technical support
2. Windows 2003 and XP knowledge needed.
3. SQL knowledge preferred.
4. Ethernet networking skills a plus, i.e., network cards, hubs, switches, routers, etc.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills over the phone
6. Work effectively under pressure
7. Available for on-call on a rotating basis
8. Some travel required
