The Reproductive Health Assistant will assist Licensed Staff by gathering information from the client and providing education required for the provision of medical reproductive health care and to provide non-directional, decision-making pregnancy options counseling for women.

Education and Experience:

·
High School Diploma or the equivalent.
·
One to two years customer service experience, preferably in a health care, medical or social services setting.

Essential Functions:

·
Check clients in and out, prepare charts for appropriate service, monitor clinic flow, collect appropriate fees, use computer system for data entry, maintain client records, and prepare center for opening and secure for closing.
·
Document medical concerns and purpose of any visit, prepare medical charts for Clinician and prepare client for exam.
·
Screen all clients for Family P.A.C.T. (SOFP) eligibility for fees.
·
Demonstrated proficiency in the Agency's Practice Management System.
·
Responsible for the accuracy of client information entered into the Agency's Practice Management system.
·
Provide non-directional decision-making pregnancy options counseling for women.
·
Per Agency protocol, provide medically accurate education and counseling to woman and men on all services including:
o
Pap/gyn exams
o
Pregnancy options counseling including abortion, adoption and prenatal
o
All FDA approved birth control methods (including emergency contraception)
o
Comprehensive sexuality including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning
o
STI's (including HIV)

·
Per Agency protocol, describe and provide education and counseling on the difference
between medication and surgical abortion.
·
Provide specific instruction on the client's selected birth control method.
·
Per Agency protocol, assist Clinician during all exams as needed.
·
Perform venipuncture and give injections.
·
Perform & record required lab tests, package specimens for outside lab tests, record lab results and triage abnormal results (overseen by onsite licensed nursing personnel).
·
Assist with clinic upkeep, including instrument washing and sterilization/preparation.
