In support of our pain and migraine portfolio leads the development of strategies and their execution toward the development of multiple candidate biomarkers for preclinical and clinical application.

Leads a research team in the generation and integration of data from molecular biochemical cell biology and in vivo studies toward the discovery and validation of target engagement pharmacodynamic and efficacy biomarkers.
Under his/her direction and leadership the team conducts both in vitro and in vivo experiments to generate data for translational (preclinical to clinical ) biomarker discovery efforts.
The team leader integrates and communicates activities of the Exploratory Biomarkers group with other functions including Biology Program Teams Exploratory Pharmacology Central Pharmacology and the Clinical groups.

Education Requirement: 6+ years with Ph.D. M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.

Required:

Subject matter expertise in the field of pain and/or neurobiology.
Ability to plan direct and manage a broad range of translational biomarker discovery efforts.
Broad understanding of modern biochemical molecular and cell biology techniques.
Ability to apply a minimal data set to a broad knowledge database and create a biomarker discovery plan.
Ability to communicate clearly and candidly (oral and written).
Strong collaborative skills.
Strong people management skills.
