Must have a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with at least five years supervisory experience in a metal fabrication environment. Must have overhead crane experience. Responsible for directing and coordinating assigned activities for one or more manufacturing shops and for the proper utilization of facilities, time and personnel assuring the output and performance conforms to standards of safety, quality and productivity. Plans, directs and coordinates assigned shop operations. Supervises employees in occupations that may include fitting, manual welding, automatic welding, grinding and heat treatment. May supervise robotic applications. Maintains good employee relations with all employees while working within the boundaries of the collective bargaining agreement. Trains and evaluates employee qualifications in relationship to job requirements. Assists in administering personnel policies, including disciplinary action when required. Recommends improvements in shop operating procedures, policies and processes, and may recommend the acquisition of additional or new equipment and machinery when costs or production problems dictate. Must be willing to work any shift. Only interested in local candidates or renters from surrounding states.
