The temporary Database Administrator is primarily responsible for the database support of in-house developed programs and various other software programs which includes implementation, maintenance and ongoing support with a production environment.  Duties of this position include supporting and backing up FTE DBAs, resolving database administration, design, performance issues, replication, running scripts, and assisting in migrations to various environments.  This position provides continuous operational and technical support to application users. The support provided includes problem solving, reporting, resolution and/or escalation.  Additional duties include documentation, ad-hoc reporting and incident tracking. 
 
Position responsibilities:
 
 
-           Technical and administrative support with a primary focus on POS system
-           SQL 2005 administration, implementation and troubleshooting.
-           Transact-SQL for queries and various ad-hoc requests.
-           Complex technical duties of installing, testing, remedial and preventative maintenance on a variety of business applications in a Windows 2003 server environment. 
-           Demonstrate expertise in Information Technology disciplines.
-           Use project organization skills to interpret customer requirements and technical design skills.
-           Provide on-call support during non-production hours (shared responsibility with other team members)
-           Use change control processes and procedures to ensure business and regulatory compliance.
-           Escalate critical issues for appropriate/timely resolution as needed.
-           Provide timely, accurate and proactive communications.
-           Preferred:
Cognos Reporting preferred
Some SSIS development and Data Warehousing experience preferred
 
 
Candidates must possess:
 
 
-           Associates Degree or higher (or equivalent work experience).
-           5+ years experience with Microsoft SQL database management and supporting Microsoft applications.
-           Solid database administration and SQL knowledge and hands-on experience or equivalent background.
-           Solid understanding of relational database design, including actual design experience.
-           Exposure and solid understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and techniques.
-           Strong desire to work in a collaborative environment.
-           Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities, demonstrated knowledge of change management, and experience implementing new process/technology to standardize operations.
-           Exceptional communication and time management skills with the ability to track and ensure the success of multiple simultaneous projects.
-           Excellent analytical and technical skills.
-           Working knowledge of ITIL principles and practices.
-           Ability to adapt quickly to constantly changing business priorities.
-           Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment and be a self-starter.
-           Must be able to function with minimal supervision and be able to prioritize all work tasks.
