What You'll Do
 

Reporting to Ball Dayton Operations (BDO) Senior Training Manger, execute the organization's internal training capability by defining, obtaining, applying, and managing the resources necessary to meet cost, schedule, and performance requirements of BDO's internal training program.
Work both independently and in a team environment, integrating the efforts of two Senior Training Managers and senior Ball Dayton Operations management.
Develop and maintain BDO's web-based learning portal.
Maintain employee training records in a corporate learning management system.
Monitor and report the effectiveness of the training program to senior management.
Direct the development and delivery of training for existing or new policies and procedures.
Suggest and approve training techniques and programs for use by the organization and/or customer.
Interpret internal training requirements and translate requirements into training deliverables.
Perform needs analysis on employees' educational requirements.
Write training programs, which may include outlines, text, handouts, tests, laboratory exercises, and certification programs.
Identify and ensure required compliance with the government and division regulation, policies/procedures and guidelines.
Contract with vendors for employee participation in outside training programs.
Travel is less than 10%.

 
What You'll Need 
 

Must have excellent human relations, organization, and communication skills and work in a team environment.
Eight or more years experience managing an internal training function.  
Demonstrated business writing and briefing skills are necessary. 
BA or BS in Human Resource Development, Communication, Education or technical field is required. 
In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibit the skills and competencies of the grade level will be considered. Each higher level degree, i.e. Master's degree or Ph.D. may substitute for two years of experience. Related experience may be considered in lieu of education.
