General duties include:
* Answering telephones for acute care clinic * Greeting patients * Handling correspondence * Scheduling follow-up appointments * Performing other administrative duties as directed Clinical Duties include: * Assisting with the triaging of patients to include recording vital signs * Explaining treatment procedures to patients * Preparing patients for examinations and procedures * Assisting providers during patient visits as needed which may include proficient translation of medical information between providers and Spanish-speaking patients * Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens * Performing basic laboratory tests on the premises * Preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician * May draw blood on occasion * Performing other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the medical provider Required Qualifications: * Must be able to communicate fluently in English & Spanish * Graduation from Accredited Medical Assistant Program * High School Diploma or equivalent * Previous experience in a medical setting * Good customer service skills * Familiarity with computers * Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions generally * Working knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene & basic health and safety precautions applicable to a clinic setting * Working knowledge of infection control procedures & safety precautions * Daily clinic preparation process; registration, and scheduling * Able to document and communicate pertinent information.
