What You'll Do: Candidate will be responsible for FPGA/ASIC verification for space-based, high reliability electronic systems. Assignments include verification of designs (including SOC architectures utilizing soft-core processors, digital filters, image processing algorithms, and communication interfaces/protocols), design and implement test benches and test plans for both chip-level and system level environments, and create reusable verification environments that can be used across multiple projects. experience with LEON processor implementations a significant plus. What You'll Need: Candidate should have strong software engineering skills, experience with C/C++, object-oriented design, and have a strong electronic circuit design and electronic systems background. Expert VHDL development methodology and test-benching for FPGAs. Very Strong expertise with VHDL/Verilog, System Verilog, Perl, and Modelsim simulator is a plus. Experience in digital system partitioning and advanced function implementation in FPGAs with a strong track record in Design, Documentation and Verification of high-speed digital electronics, FPGAs, and embedded processor systems desired. Capable of developing specifications, cost, schedule, and resource requirements for FPGA or ASIC design. Familiarity with cPCI, VME, spacewire or Firewire is a plus. Board design experience preferred. Familiar with space radiation effects is a plus. Space or military experience highly desired, but not required. Requires exceptional verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation skills. Education: BS in Engineering or a related technical field plus 12 or more years experience. In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibit the skills and competencies of the grade level should be considered. Each higher level degree, i.e. Ph.D. may substitute for two years of experience. Related experience may be considered in lieu of education.
