We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Bioprocess Research and Development team located at our West Point PA site.



This position will support Mercks discovery and development effort (i.e. discovery through commercialization) for Biologic programs in the Department of Bioprocess R & D at West Point PA. The incumbent poses expert knowledge of novel cell based assays including proliferation and ELISPOT methods various ELISA technological platforms (e.g. electrochemiluminescent Luminex) and overall responsibility for the technical conduct of studies as well as the interpretation analysis and reporting.



Specific duties will include:

Development optimization validation and implementation of ligand binding and immunogenicity assays for monoclonal antibodies proteins and peptides.
Charged with the design and implementation of rugged immunoassay specification standards meeting aggressive project timelines.
Active participation in cross-functional project teams
Scientific leadership to technical staff
Preparation of documentation for regulatory submissionsEducation:

PhD degree in immunology or related fields

Required:In-depth knowledge and understanding of biochemical/biological assays and possess strong scientific and technical leadership skills. Minimum of 10 years of hands-on industrial experience in the development of quantitative ligand binding (e.g. toxicokinetics and pharmacokinetics studies) and immunogenicity (e.g. screening and neutralization) assays for antibodies peptides and proteins. Thorough understanding of matrix effects and cross-reactivity impacts on assay designExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSupervisory experienceStrong awareness of industry/regulatory trendsKnowledge of emerging technologies


Preferred:Experience in GLP and clinical regulatory compliance is desired.
