The Northern California Cancer Center (NCCC) is dedicated to preventing cancer through population-based research and community education. An independent research organization, NCCC is an established, nationally recognized leader in understanding who gets cancer and why, and how to improve the quality of life for individuals living with cancer.

NCCC is currently recruiting for a Research Associate II. This position is a full time, regular and benefited position. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU MEET THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION BEFORE APPLYING.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

1. To conduct interviews with study participants in Vietnamese.
2. To transcribe audio recording in Vietnamese.
3. To translate and back-translate materials in English and Vietnamese.
4. To conduct qualitative data analysis in Vietnamese.
5. To oversee data management.
6. To conduct literature review.
7. To contribute to the development of grant proposals, protocols, and instruments.
8. To contribute to dissemination of scientific findings.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

1. Conduct qualitative interviews and surveys in Vietnamese.
2. Transcribes audio recordings in Vietnamese.
3. Conducts translation of transcriptions and other materials in English and Vietnamese.
4. Conducts qualitative data analysis in Vietnamese.
5. Oversees data management.
6. Conducts literature review.
7. Contributes to the development of grant proposals, protocols, and instruments.
8. Authors and co-authors manuscripts. Presents findings at scientific meetings.
9. Performs other research-related duties as requested.

Skills:
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum qualifications:

1. Masters degree in relevant discipline (e.g. public health, public policy, epidemiology, psychology, social work, medicine, anthropology, or economics)
2. Minimum of 3 years of research experience or equivalent combination education and experience.
3. Minimum of 1 year of experience coordinating research projects. Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and implement research projects and publish research findings.
4. Minimum of 1 year of experience in qualitative data analysis.
5. Fluent in English and Vietnamese (speak, read, and write). Strong analytical and written communication skills; self-initiating; ability to set priorities and meet deadlines; understanding of research methodology.
