McGraw-Hill Professional has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Publisher - Medical, based in our New York City office. The Digital Publisher is responsible for setting the strategic direction, planning and execution of Professional's digital content development within the medical vertical. The Publisher will develop and generate new digital content ideas and approaches to build and enhance Professional's digital content portfolio. Essential Accountabilities: Work with the Vice-President to develop new digital product in the medical/healthcare fields that build on existing content assets. Conceptualize, develop and create strategic business criteria to include scheduling and project plans for each vertical. Develop for each new project: business requirements, project plans, and ensure high quality, on time and on budget execution. Set strategic direction for online medical program that considers market, competition, revenue potential, and business model. Develop and execute digital content acquisition strategy for existing products e.g. "AccessMedicine", etc. Develop new digital product strategy; identify content opportunities, and execute strategy through new product solutions. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and success of projects, measuring actual results against desired outcomes. Lead and manage a digital editorial team of three and align editorial and content resources from traditional print team to increase the digital capabilities and input of the entire medical organization. Maintain and continue to aggressively build market knowledge of emerging media technologies, trends and competitive edge/offerings. Assess, review and approve digital investments and be accountable for managing the investments and commitments to stay within budgets. Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred. 10+ years related experience. Proven experience developing web-based content for the professional market. Demonstrated successful business negotiations, partner management and implementation skills. Demonstrated success outlining and implementing strategic vision for growth Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage collaboration across internal departments and across divisions. Proven experience managing processes, multiple vendors (domestic and off-shore), resources, and team management. Experience in project design, scheduling, and project management. Excellent communication skills including a sensitivity and awareness of international issues. Five to seven years experience in medical / healthcare market in product development, marketing or editorial management.
