The Specialty Case Manager manages psychiatric and chemical dependency facility-based and outpatient professional treatment through telephonic or written review. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Using appropriate screening criteria, knowledge and clinical judgment assesses patient needs and assures that medically necessary treatment is provided in a quality, cost-effective manner. The Specialty Case Manager follows guidelines to refer cases to Medical Advisors. The Specialty Case Manager will possess and demonstrate skills in psychiatric and chemical dependency assessment, negotiation, coordination, implementation, case planning, monitoring, and evaluating; demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills.

As business needs may require,this position may require additional state licenseseither now or in the future. Inability or unwillingness to obtain these required licenses may result in either re-assignment (if available) or termination. Obtaining required licenses is arequirement for continued employment. Requires a current, unrestricted license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in relevant state, LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) designation, Marriage and Family Therapist, clinical Psychologist, or RN and 3-5 years experience with facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment is preferred or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Previous experiences in Case Management/Utilization Review.
