Manager Technolgy Sr.

Respsonsible for the FEP maninframe development team. Responsible for managing the delivery of information systems and software, networking, server engineering, information security, application development and/or programming activities. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Oversees information systems function for a site, system, or special initiative including quality assurance/quality control. Evaluates all directives, change orders, and projects as to their impact on tactical plans, budgets, and contract compliance. Oversees and implements new subsystems, procedures and techniques. Management duties include hiring, training, coaching, counseling and evaluating performance of direct reports.

Manager Technolgy

Responsible for managing the activities for Technology Architecture, Data Warehousing or other managers. Plans, directs, and controls the resources and efforts of teams to accomplish the objectives of WellPoint and the Technology organization. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Obtains resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things accomplished. Manages resources effectively and efficiently to support WellPoint's operational needs and strategic initiatives. Provides leadership in motivating subordinates to accomplish WellPoint IT's goals and objectives. Develops a strong team through training and effective organizational development practices. Reports project status and progress to IT senior management. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of output and deliverables for assigned functional areas. Implements the policies, practices, and procedures of WellPoint and Information Technology organizations. Has fiscal responsibility for IT budgets. Establishes relationships with business users. Hires qualified staff for assigned areas or functions. Oversees department or functional area within business unit, which may encompass multiple projects simultaneously. Receives objectives from senior management and collaborates on the most appropriate process for accomplishing goals. Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.

Skills:
Manager Technolgy Sr. Requires BA/BS in Computer Science, Business administration or related field;5 years experience leading project teams and providing direction for professional exempt employees; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Good understanding of business operations, Prior leadership or management experience. Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, counsel and train staff. Effective communication skills, including facilitation, consultation, negotiation and persuasion. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required. Strong tactical planning, organizational, analytical and PC skills required. Manager Technolgy Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or rated field; 5 years experience leading project teams and providing direction for professional exempt employees; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Good understanding of business operations, Prior leadership or management experience, Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, counsel and train staff, Effective communication skills, including facilitation, consultation, negotiation and persuasion. Health Insurance industry experience preferred.
