The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for managing the selection and utilization of pharmaceuticals and supports core clinical programs such as DUR, DIS and formulary management. Primary duties may include: Provides pharmacy counseling to plan participants and communicates directly with physicians per protocol. Researches and synthesizes detailed clinical data related to pharmaceuticals. Resolves all operational issues related to on-going formulary development and maintenance. Develops and implements drug utilization reviews to encourage appropriate, high quality, cost effective drug therapies. Assesses participant's medication regimens and provide appropriate feedback to participants, physicians, and nurses. Supports clinical staff concerning drug information and pharmacy questions that occur within the program. Serves as a clinical resource to other pharmacists, network physicians and client contacts. Provides expertise on such areas as prospective, concurrent and retrospective DURs and provides dosage conversion and clinical support for therapeutic interventions. Prepares information for network physicians.

Skills:
Qualified candidates will have a current, unrestricted New York license to practice pharmacy as an RPh and be in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy. PharmD preferred. Experience in pharmacy benefit management helpful. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills and strong listening skills. Need good problem solving and analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a time sensitive environment and demonstrated computer software knowledge required.
