Reports to GMC Franchise Leader for Vaccines.
Acts as advisor to GHH Marketing Planning and subsidiaries /US on issues of Medical/Legal review and Medical Information.
Ensures that the full range of Global Medical Affairs support to a vaccine product(s) is focused on making medical content and information available to all Merck Medical / Marketing / Public Affairs / Market Research / Outcomes Research professionals and other clients and customers worldwide.
Responsible for overseeing staff and processes that support that product(s).
Acts as lead on issues of a medical or regulatory nature in the development of materials for Merck Global Marketing and subsidiary/U.S. Marketing as required for assigned product(s).
Helps ensure timely preparation input and approval of high-quality core promotional materials (including input to and approval of the MarComm Toolbox) for the assigned product(s).
Serves on M/L Board or in serial M/L review as needed.
Provides assistance to line management and country medical personnel to improve overall local review processes and ensure compliance with Corporate Policies.
Education:
Advanced science degree (M.D. or MD/Ph.D.). Post-graduate training (For M.Ds Residency). Training and/or experience in the desired therapeutic area (e.g. Sub-specialty Fellowship in that area). M.D. preferred.
Required:
At least 2 years post-training experience in medical practice or academia.
Proven strong communication medical writing and presentation skills including the presentation of scientific/technical information.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
Experience with medical education vaccines and/or infectious diseases preferred.
