Job Description:
Controller
Position Purpose:
Reporting jointly to the Group Controller of Information Systems and to the President, the Controller will be responsible for all of the day to day general accounting, payroll, cash management , internal controls , financial analysis, financial reporting and financial planning of this US Subsidiary.

Specific Elements of the Position Purpose:
Ensure financial statements are reported timely and accurately to parent.
Manage a staff of 4 people (With possibility of growth)
Ensure billings to customers are accurate, timely and collected.
Ensure program revenues and margins are recorded accurately & consistent with long term project accounting.
Ensure all accounts are analyzed, current, accurate and per GAAP.
Ensure various monthly management reporting packages to parent are timely and accurate.
Lead the year end audit process and act as a liaison with public auditors.
Act as a liaison with government contract auditors. (DCAA)
Ensure timesheet data is accurately transferred to the financial system .
Maintain order intake & backlog data.
Compliance to established SOX procedures
Ensure suppliers are paid per company policy & trade terms.
Prepare annual rate packages to DCAA where applicable
Assist in proposal preparation as they relate to pricing /costing of opportunities.
Preparation and submission of the company business plan financials to parent.
Financial risk identification to CFO/President.
Accountable for integrity , adequacy and effectiveness of financial records and financial systems and internal controls.

Requirements:
This position requires sound knowledge of general accounting systems, cost accounting and GAAP. Excellent interpersonal skills & good computer skills are also required to exceed in this role. The incumbent should have a solid understanding of Aerospace & Defense type contracts along with a good understanding of Gov't rates and associated rate structures. A University degree (preferably finance/accounting) is required in addition to a professional accounting designation. (CPA,CMA, CGA,CA). Approximately 10 years experience in finance/accounting with a minimum of 5 years experience in financial management is preferred.
