The Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) has been created by leading impact investors from around the world to promote the activities, research, education, and institutions that can accelerate the industry's maturation, and ultimately drive capital to solve previously intractable social and environmental challenges. The GIIN is a platform for the industry leaders to coordinate the development of effective market mechanisms and industry infrastructure needed to enable growth in the scale and effectiveness of impact investing.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial and mission-driven individual to influence the dynamic, emerging Impact Investing sector.
The Director, Impact Reporting and Investment Standards (IRIS) Initiative will be responsible for Institute's work on the development, execution and oversight of its activities and related to the IRIS Initiative and data produced in accordance with the IRIS standards.
Reporting to the Director, Growth Strategy and Development and an Advisory Committee, this person will work with a Technology Manager.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
General Management:
* Develop and manage the creation of a long-term vision and mission for the IRIS taxonomy and data repository, working cross-functionally with key industry actors, including, but not limited to the GIIN's Board of Directors, key partners, and major investors.
* Supervise the Technology Manager, who will be working in parallel on a variety of activities focused on the data aggregator and repository
* Create, in conjunction with the Technology Manager, an outreach plan to encourage adoption among priority stakeholders, integrating stakeholder feedback into the outreach and adoption marketing efforts
* Support staffing of various working groups and interact with working group leadership to ensure the success of the IRIS taxonomy
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
* Passion for the use of investment capital to address social and environmental problems, a deep commitment to the growth of the impact investing industry, and belief in the role that high-quality information can have on social and environmental issues
* Team-orientation, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, effectively building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Strong project management skills and attention to detail
* Entrepreneurial style, with an enthusiasm for working in a dynamic start-up environment.
* 10 years of work experience with a strong preference for experience related to the reporting, measurement or management of financial or non-financial performance data
