ABOUT THE POSITION:
This dynamic, fast-growing organization is seeking a creative, entrepreneurial and experienced development leader to ensure that Hillel reaches its ambitious system-wide fundraising goals.
The VP Development will report to the President and serve on the organization's senior leadership team.
Key responsibilities include:
* Meeting ambitious annual development goals while laying the foundation for long-term success through managing a strong team, serving as a resource to that team, and collaborating effectively across the organization.
* Developing the strategic plan and vision for the long-term growth and sustainability of the organization, designing cultivation strategies and innovative initiatives to build broader bases of support from Hillel's stakeholder community.
* Planning, implementing, and managing all aspects of annual fundraising to reach goals across all sources: direct mail, telemarketing, online giving, events, major gifts, partnerships, etc. With an annual global budget of $100 million, Hillel's DC headquarters comprises roughly $30 million of that total, of which $21 million is covered by fundraising revenue.
* Working closely with the CEO on cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of Hillel's largest donors and donor prospects.
* Serving as internal spokesperson for Hillel's development efforts, working within both the national, and collaborating with independent local offices at over 150 campuses.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
* Demonstrated ability to plan, execute and successfully close ambitious annual campaigns.
* Track record of success leading and motivating a sizable staff and development operation.
* Accomplished fundraiser and manager, with at least 7 to 10 years leadership experience.
* Personal energy, enthusiasm, professionalism and drive to achieve those goals.
* Branding and marketing expertise a plus.
* Bachelors degree required; advanced degree preferred.
