Click Here to Apply OnlineWe are in search of a highly skilled, high-energy, organized, results-oriented Business Development Director to support our continued growth. As a Business Development Director you will work closely with office leadership to provide business development strategy, targeting, research, lead generation, and sales strategy for specific opportunities, pipeline management, proposal development, database management and marketing/branding initiatives. You also will be responsible for tracking, analyzing and reporting results. This is a hands-on role that is important to the continued growth of the practice.
Experience * - Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field; advanced degree preferred
- 12 year's business development/sales experience in the accounting, financial consulting, business advisory services and/or banking industries. Big 4 or other national/regional accounting firm experience and field sales experience highly desired
- Experience and advanced knowledge in the development, management and execution of sales processes including lead generation, pipeline management, account planning, sales strategy and development - Must have a proven track record
- Experienced and effective at developing business relationships with C-level executives (CEO, CFO's), Boards of Directors, and referral sources (attorneys, bankers, etc.). Relationships and experience in the middle market preferred. Candidate should have a strong local business network
- Business acumen; ability to understand and communicate BDO's business, marketplace and value proposition
- Knowledge of contact management software including update, maintenance and list generation
- Solid writing and editing skills with a focus on developing sales messages with impact
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
- Driven self-starter with a proactive approach to serving professionals at all levels in a client-oriented environment
- Ability to work with and provide business development consult to partners and managers, and drive results
- Excellent project management skills; ability to work in a deadline-driven environment; handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage people to accomplish desired results.
