Key Role: Provide systems engineering support to modernize a traditional data center infrastructure with virtualization technologies that enable the client to meet and exceed data center hardware utilization goals. Maintain responsibility for designing, implementing, and managing Exchange 2003 and 2007 and SQL 2005 and 2008. Perform assessments of current infrastructure and future requirements to design, test, implement, and manage a physical and virtual infrastructure that will enable the mission of the client. Configure systems to the user environment. Act as the SME in application hosting for the team and support and manage the clients transition and migration from the traditional implementation. Act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership for junior-level employees.

QualificationsBasic Qualifications: -8 years of experience with administering and managing Windows 2000 and 2003 domains, including domain controllers, exchange servers, database servers, and application servers or administering and managing servers running Linux -2 years of experience in designing and implementing with server virtualization -TS/SCI clearance required -BS degree in IT, CS, or Systems Engineering -VMware Certified Professional (VCP) -Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)

Additional Qualifications: -Experience with VMware preferred -Experience with managing and optimizing the performance of virtual infrastructures, including resource management -Experience with high-availability features of virtualization, including VMwares High Availability and VMotion and virtualization backup strategies, including VMware consolidated backup -Experience with designing, implementing, and managing virtual infrastructures, including Storage Area Network (SAN) design, server hardware configuration design, and network design -Experience with transitioning existing physical servers onto a virtual platform (P2V) -Knowledge of the security options facing the virtualization community and the resources available to address security concerns -Knowledge of virtualization products, including PlateSpin, Xen, SWSoft Virtuozzo, DoubleTake, and BlueLane -Knowledge of the hardware impact on server virtualization, including storage interface, fiber channel, iSCSI, CPU type, and memory utilization -Knowledge of VMware Converter and VMware High Availability applications -Ability to manage a diverse workload -Ability to apply problem-solving techniques, including root cause analyses, to resolve issues -Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills -Possession of excellent organizational skills
